Vehicle involved in Evans hit-and-run found

Town of Evans police said Wednesday they have recovered a vehicle believed to have been involved in a hit-and-run accident early Saturday that injured two people riding an adult tricycle on Lake Shore Road.

Police also said they have identified a suspected operator of the vehicle, which struck the man and woman about 1 a.m. while they were riding on Lake Shore near Woodside Road. No charges have been filed. Both victims have been released from the hospital, police said.

Police said the motor vehicle that left the scene was a dark-colored SUV that may have body and/or mirror damage.

Evans police thanked citizens who came forward with information for their assistance and asked anyone else with information to call 549-3600.
