Buffalo man pleads guilty to role in crack cocaine ring

A Buffalo man pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distributing 28 grams or more of crack cocaine.

Troy Cooley, 52, faces a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison when he is sentenced on Oct. 27 by U.S. Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy C. Lynch, who is handling the case, said that between June 2013 and February 2014, Cooley conspired with others to buy and sell crack cocaine in Buffalo.

Four defendants have been convicted in the case and charges are pending against four others.
