NIAGARA FALLS – Two Niagara Falls men were charged after they allegedly chased down a man on his bicycle, beat him and then took his bike and headphones at 1 p.m. Monday at 19th Street and Ferry Avenue.
Glenn G. Bartlett, 54, of Fifth Street and and Craig R. Cadorette, 32, of a different address on Fifth Street were both charged with second-degree robbery. The victim was found with lumps on his forehead and a cut on his head. He refused medical treatment at the scene.
He told police that the men, with whom he has an ongoing conflict, were in their truck and followed him, at one point trying to run him over. He said when they caught him they both were punching and kicking him. He said Cadorette grabbed his bike and threw it into the truck and Bartlett took his headphones which had fallen to the ground. The men then drove away and the victim called for his uncle to pick him up.
Cadorette, who was the passenger in the vehicle, said the victim elbowed him in the face as they drove by his bike and broke his eyeglasses. He said he told Bartlett to follow him to beat him up, but said he did not take any of his property.
