Florida woman charged for huffing a sealant while driving in Lockport

LOCKPORT – State Police stopped a woman after reports she had been driving erratically on South Transit Road in the Town of Lockport on Sunday. An aerosol can she appeared to be huffing – inhaling to get intoxicated – was found in the car with her.

Rachelle D. Roberts, 53, of Mexico Beach, Fla. was charged with driving while impaired by drugs, driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by both drugs and alcohol and making an improper turn.

She was stopped by state police after she allegedly made an improper turn onto Strauss Road. During the interview police noticed a strong odor of an aerosol paint-like subject. Troopers said she appeared to be covered in a clear substance and they found a can of aerosol sealant in a bag filled with the substance.

Roberts had no alcohol in her blood, police reported. She was issued traffic tickets and a court date in Town of Lockport Court for Thursday.
