McNulty new lax coach at Timon

Bishop Timon-St. Jude hired Brian McNulty to succeed the highly successful Mike Burke as head lacrosse coach. Burke left the Tigers to become coach at St. Francis, his alma mater.

McNulty, whose wife is from Western New York, also will teach history at Timon. He comes to the school after five years as head coach at Xaverian High in Brooklyn. Before that he coached at Kellenberg Memorial in Uniondale. McNulty graduated in 2000 from Bucknell University where he played defense under coach Sid Jamieson, a Western New York native.

“We’re excited,” said Timon Athletic Director Charlie Comerford. “It was like a perfect storm. He’s a well-qualified coach who knows the game inside out. His wife is from here and it worked out where we had a history position open.”
