NORTH TONAWANDA – An exterior beautification project for the North Tonawanda History Museum estimated to cost more than $46,000 is getting closer to its goal as funding pours in.
Museum Executive Director Donna Zeller Neal announced that the museum needs just $8,403 to complete the entire project, which includes three outdoor signs and a front and back awning. The museum also raised $26,800 towards the window pane coverings between September 2013 and April 2014.
The funding is completed for construction of a simulated masonry foundation, which will honor the three Rand brothers, Benjamin Long Rand, James Henry Rand and George Franklin Rand, who are honored for their contributions to the development of North Tonawanda, as well as their descendants’ support of the museum.
On Tuesday, Cindy Burkett, vice president and local branch manager of M&T Bank will present a $1,500 check from the M&T Charitable Foundation toward the North Tonawanda History Museum’s Exterior Renovation Project.
