Few and expensive hotel rooms available this Rolling Stones weekend

Have you tried getting a hotel room in metro Buffalo this weekend?

Good luck.

On one of the busiest weekends this summer, thousands of visitors are descending on the area for the Taste of Buffalo, the Rolling Stones concert, Toby Keith at Darien Lake, and several other events.

Not many rooms are available, and those that are cost a lot.

Of the 84 matching hotels found in the Buffalo area on Orbitz, only two had rooms for Saturday night for two adults: StayBridge Suites Buffalo in Amherst and Staybridge Suites in West Seneca.

The cheapest room rate is currently $469 – more than $500 after taxes.

The other popular travel destination sites are no different.

Travelocity offers a Daily Deal at the Staybridge Suites in Amherst for the next 10 hours of $420 per night. The site also features one or two rooms available at Millennium Airport Hotel in Cheektowaga, the Budget Inn Buffalo Airport in Williamsville, and the Red Carpet in Tonawanda, but expect those to go quickly.

Of the 100 hotels listed in Buffalo on Travelocity, the averaged price is $354, and the three-star average is $421.

Priceline offers several hotels in the Niagara Falls area, but those too seem to be filling up quickly. The Travelers Budget Inn and the Sands Motel in Niagara Falls both are listed as only having one room available, and the Holiday Inn advertises only two rooms left. Room prices in the Niagara Falls area fall anywhere from the mid $200s to the mid $300s, and climbing.
