Charles J. Masino, a World War II Army veteran and retired guidance counselor, died Wednesday in Sisters Hospital. He was 92.
Mr. Masino, of Buffalo, was born in Buffalo and lived in the area his entire life. He graduated from School 38 and Grover Cleveland High School and, in 1940, from the University of Buffalo.
He served in the Army during World War II with the 70th Quartermaster Base Depot in England and France.
Mr. Masino worked as a guidance counselor at Williamsville South High School from 1952 to 1988, when he retired.
He was a founding member of the Williamsville Federal Credit Union and was honored in 2014 for his 61 years of service to the organization.
Mr. Masino enjoyed thoroughbred horse racing and frequently visited Fort Erie Race Track.
Survivors include his wife, the former Sydne Brownell; two daughters, Christine and Caren; a son, Charles; a sister, Irene; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, 1395 Hertel Ave.
