Bridget M. Obzud and Jared Messina were married at 3:30 p.m. on May 30 in Hendricks Chapel at Syracuse University. Guests gathered for a reception at Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel, Syracuse. Uncle of the groom, the Rev. Edward Jay Sinclair, executive director of Star of Hope Ministries in Paterson, N.J., heard the couple’s vows. The bride’s parents are Catherine A. Obzud of Tonawanda, and Joseph H. Obzud of Rochester. The bridegroom’s parents are Linda G. and Mark F. Messina of Westfield, N.J. The bride is a graduate of Kenmore East High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and premed from Syracuse University and also earned a doctor of medicine degree from University at Buffalo Medical School. The bride is a third-year pediatric resident at New York University Langone Medical Center. The groom is a graduate of Westfield High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Syracuse University. He is a junior architect at Adamson Associates. After a trip to Amalfi Coast of Italy and Barcelona, Spain, the couple will make their home in New York.
