Def Leppard’s last album included a cameo by goateed country star Tim McGraw. Styx is still touring without its Mr. Roboto (Dennis DeYoung), and Tesla released its newest album, “Simplicity” last year.
But do you really care about any of these items? Probably not. You’re likely more concerned whether the bands behind “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” “Renegade” and a dynamite cover of Five Man Electrical Band’s “Signs” can find Darien Lake’s stage Sunday, wield guitars like shirtless rock gods and transport you back to denim-draped outdoor ’80s keggers, illuminated by the headlights of your boss Pontiac Trans-Am – and that’s fine.
You want to hear the hits, and regardless of the classic rock threesome’s career trajectories, fans will hear plenty when the trio joins for a night full of “Pyromania” and “Hysteria” favorites, Tommy Shaw-helmed backseat soundtracks and MTV-aired acoustical jams. The show starts at 8 p.m. Sunday under the Performing Arts Center pavilion. Tickets start at $31 (Ticketmaster).
