Speeding motorist found to have license suspended 17 times

An unlicensed Buffalo motorist accused of speeding Wednesday morning on the Scajaquada Expressway was found to have his license suspended 17 times previously, Buffalo police reported.

Tonre Wiley, 35, was stopped about 11:15 a.m. on the Scajaquada – Route 198 – at Grant Street for allegedly traveling at 45 mph in a marked 30 mph zone, police said.

The speed limit on the Scajaquada was lowered on May 31 from 50 mph to 30 mph as part of a process to convert the expressway into a slower parkway.

Wiley was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, according to a police report.
