Kacz leads Lions to indoor title

Former Sweet Home High and Buffalo State star Casey Kacz quarterbacked the Columbus (Ga.) Lions to a 64-38 victory over the visiting Richmond Raiders on Monday night in the championship game of the Professional Indoor Football League.

The Lions fell behind 16-7, but took the lead with a PIFL-playoff record 30 points in the second quarter. Kacz completed 16 of 26 passes for 187 yards and four touchdowns.

He finished the regular season with 2,361 passing yards, completing 58.5 percent with 52 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. He also was the team’s leading rusher with 154 yards and five touchdowns.

Kacz was a three-year starter at Buffalo State, wrapping up his career in 2013.
