Carriere named assistant coach at AHL St. John's

Nick Carriere is moving on.

After 10 seasons as the head coach for Buffalo State, Carriere was named an assistant coach with the St. John’s IceCaps, the NHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens.

At Buffalo State, he led the Bengals to their fourth straight SUNYAC semifinal berth and guided the program to the playoffs in nine of his 10 seasons behind the bench. He earned SUNYAC Coach of the Year honors in 2005-06.

Carriere played his college hockey at Niagara and spent three years as an assistant coach at Fredonia.
