The Western New York Flash of the Women’s Professional Soccer League signed Australian forward Michelle Heyman and waived midfielder Jordan Angeli.
Heyman played in all five of Australia’s matches in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, including the 1-0 upset of Brazil. With Australia’s National team, Heyman has 15 goals.
“ Michelle coming in is going to enable us to vary things a little bit more tactically. She’s going to give us some experience in the final third of the field,” said Flash general manager and coach Aaran Lines.
Depending on obtaining her visa, Heyman is expected to make her debut with the Flash at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 19 against the Sky Blue FC at Sahlen’s Stadium in Rochester.
