Kirchner - Paul Age 86, of Chesapeake, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 in his home.
Born in Buffalo, New York, he was the son of the late August and Elsa Kirchner. Mr. Kirchner was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of the VFW. He was a member of Great Bridge United Methodist Church. He gave freely of himself as a Scout Master and hospital volunteer. Paul was one of those amazing souls who always helped others in need and who completely devoted himself to his family. His life lived in unconditional love and support towards others will serve as an example for generations to follow.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel I. Kirchner; a son, Gary Kirchner and wife Jean; grandchildren, Nathan Kirchner and Lauren Wallington.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2015 in the Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday at Great Bridge United Methodist Church, Chesapeake. Rev. Tim Craig will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
