Frank W. Teresi Sr., retired car salesman and dealership owner

Frank W. Teresi Sr., a retired car salesman and dealership owner, died July 4 in Sisters Hospital, St. Joseph Campus. He was 75.

A Buffalo native and lifelong resident, Mr. Teresi graduated from St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute in 1957. Beginning in the late 1960s, he started his career as a salesman for Kelly Volkswagen. He helped lead Transitowne to become the No. 1 Dodge dealer in New York State in the 1970s and No. 4 in the country within the franchise. He partnered to open Delaware Dodge on Sheridan Drive and later opened his own dealership, Niagara Falls Chrysler-Plymouth on Pine Avenue.

He closed the dealership following the Lee Iacocca Chrysler bailout, but remained in the industry as a wholesaler and used-car specialist.

Survivors include a daughter, Jacquelene Maier; a son, Frank “Jay” W. Jr.; two sisters, Diane Schwarzkopf and Patricia Healy; and seven grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday in Infant of Prague Church, 921 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga.
