Alfred State hosts STEM event for teachers

ALFRED — The Alfred State College of Technology is hosting a summer institute next month meant to provide teachers the tools to get elementary, middle school and high school students excited about math and science.

The “STEM: Building Futures From Pre-K to Careers” program, which begins with check-in on Sunday and continues with two full days of programming Monday and Tuesday, is organized by the New York State STEM Education Collaborative.

STEM refers to science, technology, engineering and math and education officials in New York and across the country are trying to convince children and teenagers to pursue a career in those fields. For more information visit nysstemeducation.org.
