Robert Ballowe, owned pest control business

Sept. 24, 1942 – June 23, 2015

Robert Ballowe, a self-employed businessman who ran his own pest control operation, died June 23 in Mercy Hospital. He was 72.

Born in Buffalo, Mr. Ballowe attended South Park High School. He worked with his father in the family business before starting his own business, Suburban Pest Control, in 1981. The business was first based in the city, but later moved to the suburbs. Currently, it is located in Hamburg. Mr. Ballowe enjoyed golfing and was an avid hunter. He also was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Hamburg.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; four sons, Dean, Gary, Albert and Martin; two sisters, Kathy and Elaine; and seven grandchildren.

A service was held June 27 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Hamburg.
