JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man used his cell phone to film the “intimate parts” of women shopping at a local supermarket, Town of Ellicott police reported.
Officers were called Saturday to Wegmans, on Fairmount Avenue, on a report of a suspicious man filming women in the store. Police said that store security personnel had noticed the man’s multiple trips in and out of the store.
The man would set his phone to record, then place it in a shopping basket and get close to women, filming them without their knowledge, police said.
Daniel J. Bass Jr., 33, of Prospect Street, was charged with a felony count of unlawful surveillance. Following arraignment in Ellicott Town Court, he was sent to Chautauqua County Jail.
