Front page July 1, 1915: German sub torpedoes British ship (and posts resume)

Two days ago, Chronicles announced that Front Page posts would be on hiatus until Aug. 1, the result of mysteriously missing microfilmed editions of The News. We're happy to report today that that's no longer the case.

The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library contacted Chronicles with the news that the reel containing the July 1915 papers was, in fact, within the library's collection, despite notations to the contrary. So, thanks to the extraordinarily helpful staff in the Grosvenor Room, our daily Front Page posts will pick up where they left off.

And on a related note, for those of you interested in reviewing older editions of The News, you may do so at the downtown branch of the library.
