Traffic stop nets arrest of burglary suspect

A Buffalo man has been arrested in connection with the theft of numerous packages of cigarettes during a burglary last month at a gas station in Orchard Park, and the driver of a car he was in has been charged with various traffic violations, the Orchard Park Police Department said Wednesday.

Tyrone Walthour, 50, of Bailey Avenue in Buffalo, is accused of conspiracy, burglary, grand larceny and criminal mischief in the alleged cigarette theft, according to Orchard Park Detective Lt. Patrick McMaster. Walthour was arraigned and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center.

Police said the cigarettes were taken June 17 from the White Arrow Sunoco Station at 3388 Southwestern Blvd. in Orchard Park. About 20 minutes later, a West Seneca police officer stopped a vehicle on Clinton Street for a variety of traffic infractions and discovered the cigarettes in a crate inside the car. The driver, Zachary Seibert, 25, of Adam Street inTonawanda, was cited for traffic violations.
