Two bar employees in Niagara County arrested in alcohol sales sting

LOCKP0RT – Two people were arrested Thursday evening as police targeted 14 establishments in a crackdown on alcohol sales to underage drinkers, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.

Charged with two counts each of unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sales, both misdemeanors, were: Peter W. Costello, 27, of Youngstown, who works at Ontario House in Youngstown, and Erin M. Dewolfe, 35, of Newfane, who works at the Ski Lodge in Lockport.

Deputies worked with State Police and representatives of the State Liquor Authority on Thursday’s enforcement detail, which occurred between 6 and 11 p.m. At 12 of the bars, underage operatives were denied alcohol, deputies said.

Costello will answer the charges in Porter Town Court, while Dewolfe will appear in Lockport City Court.
