Community cleanup in Ransomville seeking participation from businesses, groups

RANSOMVILLE – The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce, along with the Ransomville Business Association, are encouraging businesses and organizations in the hamlet of Ransomville to take part in a community cleanup this week.

The cleanup is a chance to tidy up store fronts, clean up garbage and sweep sidewalks in preparation for the Ransomville Community Faire on Saturday, as well as for the summer season.

With cooperation from Stevenson’s Hardware, at 2535 Youngstown-Lockport Road, each business and organization located along Ransomville Road and Youngstown-Lockport Road has received a coupon delivered from the Chamber for one free broom, dustpan, pair of gloves and contractor garbage bag.

“Providing the tools for the cleanup is half of the work,” said Jennifer Pauly, Chamber president. “Now we are encouraging our businesses to do the other half and assist in tidying up the area around their business or perhaps an area of the hamlet that can use some extra attention. We hope to make this an annual event.”

Funds for the supplies were made possible by the Chamber, which set aside special funding for beautification projects such as this for each community in the Niagara River Region.

Any business or organization in the business district of Ransomville that did not receive a Community Clean-Up packet, may contact the Chamber at 754-9500.
