Overnight fire forces five from Buffalo home

Three adults and two children received temporary housing assistance from the Red Cross early Thursday, following a fire in their Seneca Street home, Buffalo fire officials said.

Firefighters arrived at 12:05 a.m. at 1839 Seneca St., where the fire began on the first floor of the large 2½-story residence. Damage was estimated at $30,000 to the structure and $15,000 to the contents; the cause remains under investigation.
