The Buffalo School Board meets tonight, May 27, at 5:30 p.m. in McKinley High School for it's regular meeting. Among the top agenda items is a presentation of the Civil Rights Project report regarding recommended changes to the district's top-performing criteria-based schools, which have admissions standards for entry.
The presenter, Gary Orfield, has met with members of the school board individually yesterday and today. Here's our story on the report. And here's the link to our prior School Zone blog post that includes the full report.
The report is likely to be part of the superintendent's update since it is not listed as a separate topic on the agenda. Here's the link to the full agenda.
We will be covering this meeting live. I will be using my Twitter handle @BNschoolzone to live tweet this meeting. You do not need to have a Twitter account to follow my live tweets. Those tweets will all be collected and published below so anyone can follow along. As you can see, all tweets by myself and my fellow education reporter colleagues automatically show up in this space.
Anyone who does follow me on Twitter can reply to my tweets as the meeting runs, and I'll do my best to retweet/republish the ones worth sharing. The Buffalo News is in the process of creating a better platform for live meeting coverage so please be patient during this transition. All live tweets from the meeting will be saved and stored in this same space after the meeting ends.
