Grand Island driver stabilized by medics after rollover accident

A 19-year-old Grand Island man was stabilized by Grand Island Fire Company medics after he was injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident on Carl Road near West Park Road on the island early Monday afternoon.

Assistant Fire Chief Mark Sadkowski said Christopher Rassega lost control of his vehicle on Carl Road and it flipped over and landed on its roof. By the time a fire company rescue crew arrived he had been helped out of his vehicle by a passerby and was lying on ground. After the fire company medics stabilized him he was taken by ambulance to Kenmore Mercy Hospital for treatment of injuries. The Erie County Sheriff’s Department investigated the traffic accident.
