Tickets are on sale for Solstice Soirée, the Buffalo Museum of Science’s new summer wine-tasting and stargazing fundraiser, which will take place from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. June 20 at the museum, 1020 Humboldt Parkway.
This event is only for adults 21 and older. Tickets are $60 for members of the Science Museum and $65 for nonmembers, and can be purchased online at sciencebuff.org or by calling 896-5200, Ext. 359. In addition to stargazing, rare rooftop access (weather permitting), wine tastings, live entertainment and hors d’oeuvres, tickets also include a commemorative glass and access to all of the museum’s exhibits and galleries, including Rethink Extinct – the newest permanent exhibit. The Buffalo Catering Co. will lead tastings of wines from nine different regions around the world.
The Science Museum observatory is at the center of a new $1.5 million fundraising campaign. Plans call to restore it, with a new solar lens, by next summer.
