State Police announce hit-and-run vehicle tracked down in Town of Boston case

State Police announced Sunday that they believe they have found the hit-and-run vehicle that struck and injured a 68-year-old woman and killed her dog killed Saturday morning on Ward Road in the Town of Boston.

The woman was walking her dog in the 6600 block of Ward at 7:45 a.m. when she was struck and knocked into a ditch. She had been listed in stable condition initially in Erie County Medical Center. Her identity has not been revealed.

Investigators at the time of the incident said they were looking for a maroon vehicle – either a 2012 to 2014 Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ or Mercury Zephyr. They also noted the vehicle’s passenger-side front end may have been damaged and the cover to the side-view mirror on the passenger side would be missing.

Police said they are expecting to release further upates on the investigation.
