Hot humid conditions expected, with chance of heavy rain Wednesday

Western New York will get a preview of summerlike heat and humidity this week.

The National Weather Service says that a southwesterly flow of warm, moist air will give us steamy days and muggy nights through Friday, with daytime highs in the 80s and overnight lows in the mid 60s.

Forecasters say there also will be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday and a better chance of heavy rain Wednesday, which could help alleviate drought conditions. A cold front should bring relief from the heat Saturday, along with more rain and thundershowers.
