Niagara County teachers plan charity softball tourney

WHEATFIELD – The fourth annual Niagara County Teachers Charity Softball Tournament, to benefit Camp Hope and Niagara Hospice, will be held May 31 in Fairmount Park on Nash Road in Wheatfield.

More than 125 teachers will participate this year, from Starpoint, Niagara Wheatfield, Lewiston-Porter, Niagara Falls, Lockport, Barker, Wilson, North Tonawanda, and Newfane.

In its history, the tournament has raised more than $6,000 for Niagara Hospice. Last year, the tourney was presented the Hands Helping Hospice Award for its dedication in fundraising for Niagara Hospice and Camp Hope.

The first round of games begin at 8:30 a.m., with the championship game scheduled to start at approximately 4:45 p.m. If it rains, the tournament will be rescheduled for June 7.
