Gerry man injured in a motorcycle accident

GERRY – A Gerry man was injured when he tried to take evasive action on his motorcycle to avoid striking another vehicle, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff Department.

Samuel Shreffler, 67, was heading northbound on Route 60 in the Town of Gerry at 12:14 p.m. Sunday, when a vehicle stopped in front of him to make a left turn on Salisbury Road.

Shreffler laid his motorcycle down on the roadway in order to avoid the other vehicle. He was taken to WCA Hospital by the Gerry Volunteer Fire Department ambulance with not-life-threatening injuries.
