Jamestown police seek help from public on arson investigations

JAMESTOWN – A fire at a condemned home on Falconer Street this week has police asking the public to report suspicious activity around similar properties.

This week’s fire occurred at 420 Falconer St., which is slated for demolition, police said Friday.

Several arson fires have occurred in recent years at other condemned and vacant properties. Investigators looking at the pattern of the fires have determined they’re being set between midnight and 6 a.m., police reported.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity in or around abandoned and condemned homes is asked to call police immediately. In addition, anyone with information about previous arsons is asked to call the confidential police tip line at 483-8477.
