Kenmore Garden Club will hold a yard, plant and garden memorabilia sale from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 511 Traverse Blvd., Town of Tonawanda.


Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Erie County Master Gardener Program will hold its annual plant sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 30 at the Central Park United Methodist Church, 216 Beard Ave., one block west of Main Street between Depew and Morris avenues. The selection will include sun and shade perennials, natives, herbs, annuals, shrubs and vegetables from the gardens of CCE master gardener volunteers, as well as some donated plants from area horticultural businesses. Master gardeners will be on hand. Funds raised help support outreach programs in local communities.


Amherst Garden Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. John Lutheran Church, 6540 Main St., Amherst. Marian V. Prezyna, owner of Cats Tail Farm Herbal Center and Botanical Sanctuary, will present “Herbs for Health and Happiness.” A business meeting will follow. Guests and prospective members are welcome.


Erie Community College will offer two Working in a Learning Garden classes in a 2,000-square-foot donated plot of land in the Canalside development next to HarborCenter, 100 Washington St. Topics will include basic garden skills, pH testing and farm-to-table dinners, with chef demonstrations and guest speakers. Session I runs Tuesday to July 2. Session II, July 6 to Aug. 14. Classes will meet from 8:30 to 10:45 a.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Open to the public.
