Falls man indicted in cellphone robbery

LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls man pleaded not guilty in Niagara County Court Friday to an indictment accusing him of stealing a cellphone from the other driver after a Dec. 13 auto accident.

Fajri J. Hilson, 31, of Falls Street, is charged with third-degree robbery.

Assistant District Attorney John N. Philipps Jr. said Hilson’s vehicle rear-ended another, and after the drivers got out of their vehicles, Hilson urged the other man not to call police. When the other driver said he intended to do that and pulled out his cellphone, Hilson allegedly wrestled the phone away from the man and ran off.
