The official wraps are coming off the new Wingate by Windham hotel in Niagara Falls on Thursday.
State and local officials are joining the hotel’s owners, Plati Niagara, a company formed by Antonio, Frank and Anthony Strangio, for a ribbon cutting at the 110-room hotel at 333 Rainbow Blvd.
The $10.2 million hotel, one of several hotel and development projects either underway or in the works for Niagara Falls, actually opened in late April.
The project was awarded a $980,000 grant from the state in early February to reimburse Plati Niagara for construction costs. The Niagara County Industrial Development agency a year ago granted the project an incentive package that inclueded about $1.5 million in tax breaks.
The Strangio family owns Antonio’s Banquet and Conference Center and a Quality Inn at 7708 Niagara Falls Blvd.
