Front page May 21, 1915: 'Mrs. Buffum is guilty of murder; given life term'

"Woman shows no emotion as she hears fate"

"Mrs. Cynthia Buffum will spend practically the remainder of her days in Auburn prison. She pleaded guilty this morning to having poisoned her husband, Willis Buffum, the Little Valley farmer, thus bringing to an abrupt termination her second trial, which has been in progress in Supreme court for nearly two weeks."
