Lockport man arrested in car theft

LOCKPORT – A 52-year-old Lockport man was arrested Sunday by State Police for allegedly stealing a car from the parking lot and business checks from the office of Allegheny Services Inc. at 5638 Old Saunders Settlement Road in the Town of Lockport sometime during the weekend.

John R. Power, a former employee of that business, was accused of stealing car keys from a work vehicle and taking company checks from the office area of the business, according to the State Police. He is charged with second-degree forgery, second-degree possession of a forged instrument, third-degree criminal trespass, third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and two counts of petit larceny. He faces proceedings in coming weeks in Lockport Town Court, according to the state police.
