Town of Tonawanda youth arrested on felony weapons charge

A 17-year-old Town of Tonawanda youth was arrested on felony weapons and other charges late Monday after allegedly trying to flee Buffalo police who reported seeing him placing a handgun under a fence near Niagara and Farmer streets.

The individual was recaptured on Dearborn Street after a short foot chase when he broke free from officers who arrested him at the intersection. He was charged with a felony count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
