Tops opens two stores in Rochester area

Tops Friendly Markets has opened two new stores in Wayne County, east of Rochester.

One is a newly constructed, $3.4 million store in the Town of Walworth. It is one of the company’s smaller-format concepts at 42,674 square feet.

The other, in Lyons, was acquired from Loson’s Big M and renovated to the tune of $475,000. It is also a smaller-format, neighborhood store, at 20,134 square feet.

Both locations have fueling stations. They bring the total of Tops store to 164.

Tops has invested more than $25 million in Monroe and Wayne counties over the past three years as it seeks to beef up its presence in the Greater Rochester area.
