Motorcyclist who flipped bike while attempting stunt charged with DWI

A 31-year-old motorcyclist who flipped his bike while attempting a stunt was charged with driving while intoxicated, State Police reported Tuesday.

Troopers saw Adam Rock of New Port Ritchie, Fla., attempt the stunt Saturday on Grand Island. Rock wasn’t injured, police said, but troopers smelled alcohol.

Following field sobriety tests, Rock was arrested and taken to the State Police barracks on Grand Island. Police said Rock had a blood-alcohol content of 0.22 percent – almost three times the legal limit.

Rock was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a breath-screening test and unsafe movement of a stopped motor vehicle.

He was issued tickets to appear June 10 in Grand Island Town Court. His motorcycle was towed, police said, and Rock was released to a sober third party.
