Granny's Kitchen gets new life in Cheektowaga

There’s a new crew cooking at Granny’s Kitchen.

The diner at 899 French Road, Cheektowaga, changed hands in November. Since then, brothers Julian and Aaron Pawlak have taken over with their father, Tom Pawlak.

“We thrive on fresh, homemade meals,” Tom Pawlak said. “Stuff used to be stacked up in the freezer, and warmed up in the microwave. We don’t do that.”

The Pawlaks added a few breakfast specials, like Popeye Eggs, cooked inside colorful bell pepper rings. At dinner, meatloaf and pot roast have been hits, while specials like seafood chowder and chicken marsala have been popular too, Pawlak said.

Hours are Tuesdays through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Closed Monday. Phone: 656-2229.
