Front page May 19, 1915: 'Mayor's investigator beats survey expert to books'

"Martin McKenna takes charge at municipal hospital -- first clash since examination of departments was begun"

"The question of whether Martin McKenna, Mayor Fuhrmann's municipal survey expert, or Svante G. Lindholm, representative of the Bureau of Municipal Research of New York city, engaged by the Better Buffalo association to survey Buffalo's municipal departments, shall be given preference by department heads was determined this morning when McKenna and Lindholm clashed at the City hospital in East Ferry street. McKenna got the books and is at work there."
