Letter: Deadly mass shootings are becoming routine

Deadly mass shootings are becoming routine

After watching the extensive coverage of the terrible Amtrak derailment in Philadelphia I went up to my office, turned on my computer and read a little article about five people killed by gunfire in southern Arizona. I’m not saying the derailment was not tragic, but I have come to the conclusion that being killed by gunfire in this country, with the exception of being police-related, is becoming a nonstory. How sad is that?
