Corfu resident accused of animal cruelty in care of dogs

BATAVIA – A Corfu resident whose two dogs were deprived of proper care was charged with two counts of animal cruelty, according to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

Ashley M. Fladie, 24, of Pearl Street, was arrested last week because her dogs were found to be suffering from numerous medical conditions that could have been avoided with proper care and treatment, deputies said. The dogs were examined by a veterinarian and declared in an unsatisfactory condition due to improper care; further information about their status wasn’t disclosed.

Fladie was released on a ticket to appear June 18 in Batavia Town Court.
