The West Seneca Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual chicken barbecue Thursday at Southgate Plaza on Union Road.

Only takeout dinners will be available, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Prepared by Krolick’s Bar-B-Q, the dinner includes half of a chicken, two sides and a roll.

The cost is $10. For more information, call the chamber office at 674-4900.

This week:

• The Town Board meets at 3 p.m. Thursday in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 1250 Union Road.

• Main Street Marketplace will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday on the grassy hill at Main Street and Union Road – adjacent to Town Hall. Local entertainers will perform at the market from 5:30 to 7 p.m., weather permitting. In case of wet weather, vendors will be on the hockey rink parking lot behind Town Hall.

• A free screening of “The Hired Hand,” a 1971 Western starring Peter Fonda, begins at 7 p.m. Thursday in the classroom at Burchfield Nature & Art Center, 2001 Union Road.

• The Firemen’s Memorial Exhibit Center food drive, to benefit the West Seneca Food Pantry, runs through the end of May. Donations may be dropped off from 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturdays at the center, 4141 Seneca St. Boxed dinners, pasta, peanut butter and paper products are particularly needed.
