Brooklyn man accused of punching out door glass at Falls motel

NIAGARA FALLS – A Brooklyn man was charged with felony mischief Friday morning after police said he argued with an official of Red Carpet Inn, Niagara Falls Boulevard, and punched the glass out of the motel’s front door.

Johnny M. Castillo-Rodriguez, 24, was arrested shortly after the 1:30 a.m. incident. Police, who found him bleeding outside his room at the motel, said he suffered cuts to his hand, arm and head, and was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for treatment, then booked into jail.

Police said the dispute focused on the number of occupants in the room the suspect had rented. Motel policy limits occupants to four per room, police said, and Castillo-Rodriguez reportedly had seven people staying in his room.

Damage to the door was estimated at $650.
