CAMBRIA – The Western New York Land Conservancy has won a state grant to help its plans to protect a farm in Niagara County, and to bolster its fundraising efforts.

The grants, totaling $59,600, came from the state’s Conservation Partnership Program, administered by the Land Trust Alliance and the Department of Environmental Conservation.

The money will be used in part to protect the 108-acre Coulter Farm on North Ridge Road in Cambria and Wilson. It’s the conservancy’s largest farmland protection program in Niagara County. The rest of the cash will be applied toward a joint hiring with the Genesee Land Trust of a fundraising expert to provide guidance to both organizations.
