LOCKPORT – A subcontractor on the Lockport-area “Safe Routes to School” sidewalk installation project will start work on East High Street in the Town of Lockport Tuesday.
E&R General Construction will be working along East High Street between Magnolia to Greenview drives, installing drainage modifications in preparation for the construction of the sidewalks. Their work is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, according to Catherine H. Knab of Wendel, the town’s engineering firm.
She also said that the main contractor, Roman Construction Development Corp. of Pendleton, will be back on site June 8 to resume work on the Locust Street Extension sidewalk, where work began May 5.
The construction of four new sidewalks near Lockport schools is being funded by a state grant. The contract was valued at $477,816
