Maritime Charter School offers exemplary education
As a former teacher in the Buffalo Public School system I can tell you from experience that students crave discipline. How can a teacher possibly teach if there is no order in the classroom? The WNY Maritime Charter School provides students with an exemplary education, discipline and, most importantly, consequences for breaking rules set forth in the school handbook.
For anyone having reservations about the quality and type of education at Maritime, I recommend that you take a tour of the school as I have. Lt. Col. Lawrence Astyk and his staff should be commended for their dedication and determination to provide their students with the tools to become successful professionally and to become good civic-minded citizens of our great country.
When I see these cadets from Maritime at the Buffalo Airport saluting and welcoming home our World War II veterans from an Honor Flight, I feel a tremendous sense of pride that our community has a school that instills discipline and a good education in each and every student.
As Astyk stated, “Maritime isn’t for everyone,” but for those students who follow the rules, they are well on their way to becoming successful and productive members of society.
