HARTLAND – Lisa Trakas, district clerk for the Barker Central School District, has announced that she will run for Hartland town justice this fall.
Voters will fill two open justice seats in the Nov. 3 election in Hartland. Incumbent Town Justice Joanne Sullivan will seek another four-year term and the seat belonging to Brian Fitts also will be open. Fitts left his justice post when he retired in late November and his cases have been covered by Sullivan until the election.
Trakas has lived in Hartland for 28 years. She will retire next April after 22 years at the Barker district, the past nine as district clerk.
She and her husband, Robert Trakas, have been married for 35 years and have three grown children who graduated from Barker schools.
